b-connected is dedicated to keeping our community active, confident and in touch.
Over the years, we have built an impressive network through neighbourhood support teams to look after our community and address everyday issues, and b-connected is dedicated to continuing this valuable local service.
Our role is to organise, help and support local initiatives to provide real benefits for all our residents. With such a wide scope, it would be easy to think that we’re apart from the everyday lives of our community. In fact, we’re right at the centre of many groups and organisations, building and strengthening them with the help of our residents.
Ours is a unique community and reflects the investment and improvements in the lives of our residents. Our established teams work hard in partnership with our residents to address issues surrounding neighbourhood management and the improvement of local services. Over the past few years, our community has seen a marked drop in crime levels thanks to new initiatives to diffuse problems and refocus energy into positive action.
As a result of joining up our services, our community is benefiting from local action.
A good example of this is the Braunstone Housing Providers Forum, a collaboration of 6 key social housing providers, whose work is to share information and provide better value from their resources in Braunstone. These discussions have developed activities such as mutual house exchanges and free home security packs for new residents- just one example of our work for the community.
In our immediate environment, we have been working with key service providers in identifying and tackling ‘grot spots’ with the redesign and repair of local landmarks. We are also raising awareness of sustainable living for our community and with the help of offenders carrying out community service, raising Braunstone’s recycling rates.
If you’re a regular reader of ‘Braunstone Alert’ you’ll already know what a valuable service it provides for the community. The chance to share opinions, update on local news and events and discuss local issues. You can pick up a copy at the following locations:
The BRITE Centre – Braunstone Ave Braunstone Leisure Centre – Hamelin Rd
The Lodge – Braunstone Park Neighbourhood Support office – Wellenger Way

The success of any community action is dependent on the people engaged to tackle the issues. We are extremely fortunate to have enthusiastic and forward thinking residents who take an active part in our work. We appreciate your support and feedback.
