Monday 22nd July marked the start of The Grove Community Hub’s Summer Holiday Activity Scheme; offering 120 children and Young People aged 6-15 years, the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities.

The scheme is part of Leicester City Council (DfE) Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF), which allows children who receive 'benefit-related' Free School Meals to attend the scheme for free. For children who do not fit these criteria, The Grove have also offered a number of low-cost, paid places.

There are two main elements to the scheme - football/multi-sports and dance/arts & crafts, with each young person also receiving a free breakfast and lunch each day.

We are only one week into the four-week scheme and already a lot has happened. As well as the main schemes, the young people have also been given the opportunity to take part in a variety of additional activities, such as floristry, cake baking, reading & story-telling and a carnival-themed day. You can see the fun in the pictures below!

We are really looking forward to the next three weeks and you can find out what else we’re getting up to via our social media channels, by clicking the links to b inspired’s Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) pages at the top of the page.
