The Grove Community Hub

For nearly 50 years The Grove was an important part of the community here in Braunstone. Initially known as The Coffee Bar in the 1970s, it became the home of an adult learning service and then as a youth centre and sports facility.
Sadly, in 2016, Leicester City Council stopped delivering services from the building and wanted to hand over ownership to the community. This meant that the building was underused for many years and sadly fell prey to regular vandalism.

b inspired thought that it was time that The Grove was brought back to life and once again become an important part of Braunstone and our community. So, following extensive consultation with the community to understand what they wanted to see offered at the building and facility, b inspired took over the lease of the building from the City Council in 2019, as a Community Asset Transfer (CAT).

After raising funds through Power to Change, Garfield Weston Foundation and Crowdfunding, b inspired began renovating The Grove., turning it into a community hub that everyone in Braunstone can be proud of, launching with a large open day for the community in February 2020.
