b-inspired uses sport as a vehicle to address a number of issues that communities face, such as educational attainment, health, crime and unemployment. Our aim is:

‘To use sport and physical activity as a way of improving the quality of life for communities, now and in the future.’

The Grove Community Hub

For nearly 50 years The Grove was an important part of the community here in Braunstone. Initially known as The Coffee Bar in the 1970s, it became the home of an adult learning service and, more recently, as a youth centre and sports facility

Sadly, in 2016, Leicester city council stopped delivering services from the building and wanted to handover ownership to the community. This has meant that for much of the last two years the building has been underused and has sadly fallen prey to regular vandalism. We think that it’s time that The Grove was bought back to life and once again become an important part of Braunstone and our community.

We want to turn the Grove into a community hub for the whole of Braunstone

We have taken over the lease of the building from the city council and plans are already underway to start renovating The Grove and turning it into a community hub that everyone in Braunstone can be proud of

This includes a range of new facilities and renovations, including:

  • Renovating the existing artificial football pitches
  • Creating a new social bar and community café
  • Creating a dance and fitness studio
  • A fully equipped training area and meeting space
  • Office spaceThe Grove will offer a wide range of activities and services to the whole community, from young to old. This will include:
    • Footballs teams at a variety of ages
    • Dance groups at a variety of ages
    • Sports, dance and fitness activities
    • Availability to hire space – football pitches, fitness / dance studio, meeting room, function room (social bar)
    • Educational activities – training, courses
    • Parties – Zorb, football and dance
    • After school clubs, school holiday clubs
